Story for the day.
All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
My name is Rachel.
I'm agnostic.
But I wasn't before.
Problems between me and the church authorities....I'm not exactly welcome there anymore.
And I haven't shown up to church in 6 months.
So yesterday,
I disguised myself to go see a famous pianist perform at the church. Everyone was there.
Even my old friends from church.
But having not even thought about them for the past 6 months, I had completely forgotten about them.
But alas, my disguise did not serve its purpose as I thought it would.
So all those friends I had recognized me on the spot.
Just the look in their eyes was enough to show that.
But only one actually acknowledged my existence.
The rest of them just looked upon me with confusion...and a bit of betrayal.
It was all I could think about during the entire performance.
Now here's the problem.
I felt terrible that I had let them down like that.
And I also realized I missed them so much.
But I just couldn't show my face to them and show up to church today.
There was this ridiculous amount of guilt and sadness because I missed them so much.
And so the rest of the day, I made up scenarios in my head where I stood at their front door sopping wet because of the hurricane and crying my eyes out. But that's how I ended it. Because I couldn't tell whether they would let me in or not.
The end.
Nice story, right?
Oh, and my cousin made up a new phrase of advice: When life gives you pressure, make diamonds.
BAM.
How amazing is that?
